A plastics diaphragm for an electro-acoustic transducer has a fibre fleece attached to at least one surface. The diaphragm is preferably of thermoplastics material and the fibres of the fleece are fibres of raw cotton or raw animal wool. The fibres of the fleece may be attached to the diaphragm surface by a layer of heatsetting lacquer, by an electrostatic process or during an embossing or drawing process which gives the diaphragm its final shape. The fibres may be orientated in a particular direction but are preferably in random order. |
