PURPOSE: To prevent reduction in performance such as a transfer speed of substantial print data when a host computer obtains status information of an image forming device. CONSTITUTION: An image forming means 1 is provided with a 1st memory means 1a storing a status representing a print job processing state and an identifier for a host computer 104A being a print job transmission source or the like, and a status return means 1b returning said status to the host computer 1b being a print job sender when the status changes, and the host computer is provided with a print job transmission means 2a sending the print job with its own identifier added thereto to the image forming means, a status reception means 2b receiving a status from the image forming means, a 2nd memory means 2c storing the status, a status update means 2d and a status notice means 2e informing the status to the user. |
