1,151,312. Feeding webs. KALLE A.G. 3 July, 1967 [30 Dec., 1966], No. 30495/67. Heading B8R. Two substantially parallel plane guide elements 1 and 2 have means to grip a web 6 between them, and an hydraulic or pneumatic ram 9 is provided to advance the elements 1 and 2 in the direction of feed whilst gripping the web. During or at the end of the feed stroke, the guide elements are tilted about pivot point 11 by an hydraulic or pneumatic ram 12, to lower and impale the leading edge of the web on to anchoring pins 14 on the peripheral edge of a deep-drawing mould 13. Slot-shaped recesses (16, Fig. 4) are provided on the leading edges of the guide elements 1 and 2, to accommodate the pins 14. The web is released for the return stroke of the elements 1 and 2, but the guide elements 1 and 2 remain tilted to guide the web on to the remaining pin 14. The web gripping means of the guide elements comprises one or more electromagnets 4 on the top guide element 1 and an appropriate number of armature discs (5, Figs. 1 and 2) accommodated in recesses (3) in the lower guide element 2. |
