Plates or tiles, used for heat- and/or sound insulations, are produced by impregnating a body of mineral fibres with a solution or emulsion of a silicone rubber, densifying the body by applying pressure or suction; and heating with hot gases passed through the body to volatilise the solvent and cure the silicone rubber.
