Higher operational speed of the loom is made possible with its sley made up of two pipes supported between the sword cheeks. The lower pipe carries the race strip for the shuttle, a lower clamp for the reed, and its extensions hold the shuttle box brackets. The top pipe supports the other clamp of the reed.
