1287393 Friction clutches ROBERT BOSCH GmbH 9 Jan 1970 [18 Jan 1969] 1073/70 Headings F2C and F2L An hydraulically actuated pair of friction clutches selectively connect a vehicle engine shaft 34 to either of a pair of gearbox input shafts 1, 2, the clutches being engaged by pistons 11 and 12 defining a common apply chamber 17 between them, and being released by supplying fluid selectively to individual release chambers 15, 16 to overcome the apply pressure. As shown, the clutches comprise driven plates 4, 5 on the shafts 1, 2 and urged against driving flanges 7, 8 fast with the flywheel 6 by pressure-plates 9, 10 acted on by the pistons 11, 12 through bolts. Fluid is supplied selectively to chambers 15, 16 via a changeover valve (22), Fig. 2 (not shown), from a pump (26) which also supplies fluid continuously to chamber 17 via a reduction valve (30) positioned in accordance with accelerator pedal position. The valve (22) is adjusted by a control valve (21) when a gear is engaged in the gear-box (3) by a driving range switch (23) |
