Medium for the preservation of e.g. human bones, articular cartilage, tendons and skin in condition suitable for transplant operations. Sterile, antibacterial, translucent, stable get of elastic consistency prepd. by hydration of gelatine (15-25 pts., hydrated) during 6-14 hrs. with aqs. soln. of decamethylene bis 4-aminoquinaldine or dimethylalkyl benzyl ammonium chloride (1/5000-1/10,000 pbw of total medium), adding fluidised glycerine (3-7 pts.), sterilizing the mixture, warming to 40 degrees C and adding polyflower honey (to 100 pts.) also at 40 degrees C, the entire compn. being rendered homogeneous. Preservation is for up to 12 months at 4 degrees C.
