Immersion device for the glazing of ceramics consists of a glazing basin through which the articles dipped travel in a parabolic path, this being effected by arms, which are radially attached to a vertical revolving disc. The arms take hold of the plates, which have been made to slide into the basin, accelerating each relative to the disc prior to its transfer to a removal device on leaving the bath. The accelerating movement of the arms is effected as the result of their being springloaded, a cam controlling their locking and releasing. The acceleration motion ensures that all excess glaze is removed from the plate on their emergence from the glazing bath.
