Apparatus and method for flushing the teeth and gum tissues with a moving stream of water to remove debris therefrom. The apparatus includes a nozzle with a plurality of angularly related supply passages converging at a single orifice through which such stream of water discharges. The stream cyclically and repetitively traverses a path of travel while the orifice remains in a fixed position because of changes in the relative volumetric flows of water through the supply passages.
