1375127 Seed bearing media BUNZL & BIACH AG 19 April 1973 [19 April 1972] 19066/73 Addition to 1367090 Heading A1E [Also in Divisions A6 B8 and D1] The material of the parent Specification 1367090, which comprises plant seeds dispersed in a single or multi-layers web, the or at least one layer being a non-rotatable, non-woven fibrous web, has a reinforcing layer of natural or synthetic threads added to it. As described a web of longitudinal and transverse glass threads is needled to a web of mixed, green polyamide fibres. The needled web either includes fusible white polyamide fibres or is sprayed with condensible acryl resin so that on heating the fibres in the web are bonded to one another. The bonded web is then needled to an under web having grass seeds strewn thereover as described in the parent Specification 1367090. Alternatively parallel threads may be laid on a web for a carding engine, the web laid transversely, needled and then strewn with seeds, and a further carded web needled to it. The final web can be used to grass sport areas, gliding runways, or ski pistes, or for strengthening sharp inclines or bends.
