PULSE GENERATORS

The timing has its revolutions monitored by a pick-up unit to produce a pulse and the timing unit consists of a disc which fits into the mouth of a moulded plastics body which has a humber of ferrite rods equal to the number of cylinders inserted symmetrically around the circumference. The timer is driven via the rotor shaft of the distributor. Each time one of the ferrite rods passes the pick off unit it produces a pulse. The moulded plastics body is similar to that of a cylindrical battery torch, with the timing disc in the centre opening. It is coupled to the body by an elastic ring pressed into the cone shaped clearance between the two.
