The door mounted storage pocket is mounted in a position on the door which is easily accessible from the car seats, and which does not encroach on the space inside the car. This position is on the door trim just under the window. The pocket is formed by a cover (9) hinged to flip down, about a horizontal axis (6). The cover is of rigid plastic and has an internal wall (8) which hinges with the cover. The cover can be fitted with an optional lock (10) for secure storage. In the flip down position the inside of the cover forms a horizontal surface for picnic storage of glasses and cups.
