A process for preparing aq. polyisobutylene (I) di-aspersions comprises kneading a mixt. of 100 wt. pt. (I) and 2-25 wt. pt. paste contg. 70-90 wt. pt. high molecular (I), 10-30 wt. pt. water and 3-5 wt. pt. conventional dispersion and with 10-40 wt. pt. of a 10-20% aq. dispersion aid soln. at 100-130 degrees C. and then adding water at 70-90 degrees C. until a mixt. is obtd. which is dilutable with arbitrary amts of water. The water does not have to be added in many small portions with long kneading times as in prior art. After short kneading times the water is absorbed quickly. by the mixt. The dispersions may be used as coatings for textiles. It also acts as a plasticiser in admixt. with other polymer dispersions and improves stability.
