Cooled compact operating theatre light - is cooled internally by evaporation of solid carbon dioxide in cartridge form

The lighting fitting for operating theatres has a number of lights equally spaced on a triangular pattern. The beams meet at the axis of symmetry, with the reflectors enclosed by the lighting body. The lighting fitting produces a great deal of light with efficient cooling without using sterilised air. The fitting (12) inner region is cooled by evaporation of a solid or liquid into gas. This material evaporates within the lighting fitting at a temperature below freezing point of water. The Gaseous phase is removed through a pipeline (36) which ensures that it cannot enter the room. Soldi CO2 stored in a cartridge with thermally insulated wall can be used for cooling. The conductivity of this wall is such that the heat absorbed for evaporation corresponds to the heat loss of the lamps.
