Portal crane rail track junction - has two coupled tongues swinging against opposite sides of each main line rail

The junction is for double or multiple rail tracks, and partic. for portal or constructional cranes, whose travel wheels have flanges on each side. Each rail (1) of the main line has two tongues (10, 11) swinging against its sides, these tongues being coupled to each other and to those of the other rails. The tongues pivot on a vertical axis (27, 28) before the ends of the respective branch line rails (3, 5). The tongues can alternatively pivot independently on separate axes, and can have rotary plates underneath, working in recesses in baseplates (26). Holding-down devices (29) extend over the plates, to prevent them lifting out.
