In the operation of a UF6 recharge system of a sepg. jet plant in which a UF6 gas stream varying according to a cyclic time function issues from a low temp. separator, this stream is passed through an intermediate buffer system (ZPS) and check valves at the inlet and outlet of the ZPS are operated in opposite directions, so that a uniform recharge stream is produced. These valves are preset so that the closing valve is kept to the lower limit of its linear operating range until the opening valve has passed the corresp. lower limit. Pref. the uniform stream is regulated to the value corresp. to the arithmetic mean of the irregular stream with time. The valves are pref. preset by comparison with adjustable values. Additive control signals are pref. added to the preset signals, which originate from the control cycles contg. the control valves, the recharged stream being the controlling value. The required constant recharge stream can be obtd.
