The invention relates to a temperature-controllable cuvette with a plastic body, especially a flow cuvette for the optical study of liquid sample-reagent mixtures. The object of the invention is to integrate a temperature-control device with the cuvette to such an extent that both components form an integral whole. Once the plastic body comprising the cuvette and the temperature-control device has been manufactured, no further operations should be required. The invention is characterised in that the cuvette body, which consists of electroconductive plastic, itself forms the electrical resistance heater. The cuvette body is surrounded by a housing of electroconductive material, a glass pane being fixed at each end face of the housing. An electrical internal conductor is arranged concentrically in the cuvette body, and the associated terminal of opposite polarity is arranged on the housing. The cuvette body consists of electroconductive polytetrafluoroethylene, PTFE, having a graphite content of from approximately 10 to 20%.
