The deflection circuit, which is magnetically regulated, and includes a deflection coil (51) and a generator for deflection, feeds current to the deflection coil. A magnetic switching regulator (42, 43) supplies the deflection coil with deflection ratio energy (38) and uncontrolled energy (UB) when the primary coil of the magnetic switching regulator (42a) is magnetically, saturated so as to be short-circuited. Control equipment (25) joined with (42a) controls the duration of short-circuit so as to regulate the total amount of energy transmitted to the deflection coil.
