<p>NEW MATERIAL:A compound shown by the formula I (R' is H or 1-10C alkyl; R<2> is 1-10C alkyl or 5-6C cycloalkyl; R<3> and R<4> are H or protecting group) and its salt. EXAMPLE:5-Thia-prostaglandin E1 methyl ester 11,15-bis-t-butyldimethylsilyl ether and its 8,11,12-epimer. USE:A drug having inhibitory action on blood platelet aggregation, vasodilating action, etc. Useful as a remedy and preventive for thrombosis. Also useful as a hypotensor. PROCESS:An alpha-vinylketone shown by the formula II is reacted with a thiol shown by the formula III using a radical initiator (e.g., alpha,alpha-'azoisobutyronitrile or under ultraviolet light irradiation at 30-200 deg.C. If necessary, the reaction product is deprotected and/or hydrolyzed, to give a compound shown by the formula I .</p> |
