PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of a cleaning failure by executing both detection of a setting failure of a device for cleaning a visible image, and detection of fullness of a waste toner which has been brought to cleaning. CONSTITUTION:In a state that a cleaning device 2 has been set, light of a lamp 5 passes through a slit 7 and a waste toner collecting box 9 and it is irradiated on a CdS photodetector 8, therefore, a cleaner setting signal is inputted to a microprocessor 9, and when a copying signal is inputted, a copying start signal is outputted and copying becomes available. On the other hand, in a state that the cleaner 2 is not set, light of the lamp 5 on a lamp holder linked with the cleaner 2 cannot pass through the slit 7, and it is not irradiated on the CdS photodetector 8, therefore, the cleaner setting signal is not inputted to the microprocessor 9, and even if the copying signal is inputted, the copying start signal is not outputted, and copying cannot be executed. |
