The rotary grinding tool (1) comprises a rotationally symmetric carrier (2) with an abrasive-coated or treated sleeve (3), e.g. of paper, plastic foil or thwn metal around it. This sleeve is provided with, possibly partly cut-out, lips (7) which slightly project outwards and are resiliently outwardly movable under centrifugal action. These lips may be rectangular, triangular or U-shaped having one side or portion integral with the sleeve material.
