PURPOSE:To aim at improvements in efficiency in step replacement, cutting efficiency and accuracy, by controlling rotation between a tool shank and a work gear shaft synchronously, and also controlling an infeed rate and cutting force. CONSTITUTION:Whether it is a state that a grindstone 8 or a gear-form tool and a work 14 or a work gear is engaged with each other or not is checked by each of position detectors 5 and 11. Next, a pulse is given to a Z-axis drive circuit 15 so as to make a cutter head move as far as a proximate value between the grindstone 8 and the work 14 by a numerical control system 1. Then, the grindstone 8 and the work 14 are rotated at the revolving speed conformed to each command value. Giving an upper limit value to each of current value limiters 6 and 12, an upper limit of an armature current value of motors 4 and 16 to be outputted from a tool drive circuit 3 and a work drive circuit 9 is controlled whereby grinding force lying between the grindstone 8 and the work 14 is controlled. Therefore, with control over an infeed rate and this grinding force, machining accuracy is improved. |
