PURPOSE:To stabilize a sealing effect by folding back the end edge on the combustion chamber hole side of a sub-plate which is laminated on a base plate toward the outside of said combustion chamber hole to form a fold-back part while making said fold-back part hold a spacer member inside and forming a compensating part having a defied thickness. CONSTITUTION:A compensating part 16 having a defined thickness in which a spacer member 14 is provided toward a combustion chamber hole side from the bead site of a bead 12 which is provided surrounding the combustion chamber hole, is formed in order to compensate a deck face gap around a combustion chamber which is generated at the time of clamping a cylinder head. Thereby, a large deck face gap around the combustion chamber can be compensated, the expansion and contraction of the deck face gap due to the effect of combustion gas pressure or engine heat can be prevented, and an alternate load which acts on the bead can be lowered, preventing the permanent set of the bead. The periphery of the combustion chamber is surrounded by both the compensating part and the bead site, thereby, efficiently preventing the leakage of a combustion gas. Further, even when the bead of the base plate 4 is compressed and deformed due to a clamping force, the breakage of a fold-back part can be prevented due to the existence of the spacer member, while increasing the strength of the compensating part.
