The pneumatic spring consists of two coaxial, variable-vol. chambers (94,108), enclosed by two mobile partitions (88,100) and linked to separate fluid feed sources (112,110). The pressure of the fluid determines the rigidity of the spring. The partitions limiting the two chambers are in the form of coaxial rolling membranes fitted between a fixed housing (36) and a moving assembly (74). The housing has a first inner cylindrical cavity (40), open at its lower end, and an outer cylindrical cavity (44) surrounding a tubular partition (42) between the cavities. The open ends of the membranes are closed by the two rolling membranes, each of which is deformed by the moving assembly to vary the volumes of the two chambers.
