Variable distribution valve control mechanism for IC engine

First (1) and second (2) levers cooperate with cams mounted on a camshaft. One end (14,24) of each lever is articulated to the cylinder head, and the other end (15,25) is articulated to a respective valve member. The first lever is articulated to the cylinder head by a pivot axle (4), with the pivot axle (5) of the second lever fitted coaxially inside it. The second lever is driven by its pivot axle via an intermediate arm (51) which passes through an aperture in the body of the first axle and bears against its edge surfaces (42). A cam surface at the end of the intermediate arm engages a cooperating surface of the lever. The first axle may be mounted pivotably in the cylinder head.
