PURPOSE:To efficiently use sound production channels by mixing a modulation signal with a carrier signal in an arbitrary mixture ratio based on playing information and generating a modulated musical sound signal in prescribed functional relations and synthesizing musical sounds by modulated or PCM musical sound signal generating means preliminarily assigned to respective sound production channels by time division processing based on playing information. CONSTITUTION:The modulated musical sound signal generated from a modulated musical sound signal generating means has the characteristic, which is obtained by converting a carrier signal WC in accordance with prescribed functional relations E, and is obtained by mixing a modulation signal WM with the signal WC in an arbitrary mixture ratio. A player arbitrarily selects the modulated musical sound signal generating means or the PCM musical sound signal generating means as the means for synthesis of musical sounds with respect to each channel, and a control means 501 dynamically selects and operates different musical sound signal generating means based on the selection. Thus, sound production channels are efficiently used. |
