<p>PURPOSE:To set an input device to be small, light and superior in operability by using the tablet surface of a coordinate input device to a keyboard surface by means of mode switching. CONSTITUTION:When an operator depresses the tablet 21a surface of a coordinate detector 21, the coordinate detector 21 detects the coordinate value and it is supplied to a selection part 25. When an input mode switching part 22 sets a key input mode, a coordinate-character code conversion part 23 retrieves a character code conversion table 23a by the coordinate value transferred from the selection part 25 and obtains a character code allocated to a key area to which the coordinate value belongs. In a period when the input mode switching part 22 sets a coordinate input mode, the selection part 25 transfers the coordinate value to a coordinate scale conversion part 24 and is scale- converted into the coordinate value on the display screen 30a of a display device 30, whereby it is transmitted to a computer mainbody 10 as original coordinate data.</p> |
