<p>PURPOSE:To keep the optimum pressure applied to an ink ribbon and effectively prevent the jamming of transfer paper and deterioration of print quality caused by improper pressure by specifying the energizing force of spring giving a pressure to a thermal head printing portion. CONSTITUTION:One end of thermal head 901, which is a thermal transfer member with a print width of about 8mm, is pivotally mounted by the shaft 914 of a body frame 950. A spring 910 is secured between the thermal head 901 and a link 909. The pressure F of the thermal head with a print width of about 8mm should be 30-50fg. Taking the distance from the shaft 914 of link 909 to the attaching point 909a of spring 908 as (a), the distance from the shaft 914 to the printing portion of thermal head 1 as (b), and b/a as n, the device is designed so that the ratio of the energizing force of spring 908 acting on the thermal head 901 to the pressure of printing portion 901b is n by properly selecting the shape and position of each portion, and the energizing force FS of spring 908 is 30n-50ngf.</p> |
