METHOD AND DEVICE FOR COMPRESSING POWDER

PURPOSE:To increase the quantity of extrusion of powder when a straight cylinder is connected to an extruder by making coefficient of friction larger through a rough surface formed on the inner wall of the straight cylinder to efficiently effect agitation and compression of the powder. CONSTITUTION:A straight cylinder 2 is connected to a hopper cylinder 11 for extruder with a screw 10 at right angles to an axial direction of the cylinder 11. A plurality of rough surfaces 21 each comprising a longitudinal groove formed along the axial direction of the cylinder 2 are formed on the inner surface 2a of the cylinder 2, wherein the groove is about 10mm in width, about 3mm in depth, and about 100-200mm in pitch. Coefficient of friction between powder 5 and the inner wall of the cylinder 2 is made larger by the rough surfaces 21. Further, buffing of No.300 or more is applied to the surface of the screw 4 to reduce coefficient of friction between the screw 4 and the powder 5.
