PURPOSE: To prevent metallic hydride from being solidified even in a long period of use by a method wherein a solidification-preventing particle is stored in a filling container together with the metallic hydride. CONSTITUTION: An MH container 20 is formed into a cylindrical shape with good heat transfer material, two kids of metallic hydrides MH1 and MH2 having a different temperature-equilibrium pressure characteristic are filled in the container while being divided into a longitudinal direction and concurrently silicone resin particles 21 are mixed in them. Each of the metallic hydrides MH1, MH2 is of MmNi5 system and LaNi5 system used for a high temperature and a low temperature, separated by a heat insulating material 24 and each of them is sealingly enclosed within the container 20 by heat insulating materials 26a, 26b. With such an arrangement as above, in the case that metallic hydrides are expanded as hydrogen is stored, press contacting or striking of the metallic hydrides by themselves is slackened and their solidification is prevented, so that a heat exchanging efficiency is not reduced even in a long period of use. |
