<p>The apparatus, consists of bars (1) of a composition material, connected to one or more bone pins (3) by brackets, each comprising a collar (2) and a locking member (,5). Each collar surrounds half the circumference of the bar and can be moved along it, and has two projecting arms to receive a bone pin (3). The ends of the bars can be joined by a variety of couplings which enable them to be extended or set at various angles to one another, e.g, telescopic and threaded joint or ball and socket couplings. The bars themselves can be made from high-strength carbon.</p> |
