A process that improves upon the mass transfer of chemicals between phases and which compensates for the slowness in reaction rates inherent in many chemical reactions, wherein a first fluid reactant in a reaction vessel is mixed with a second fluid reactant in a mixing device followed by a reaction vessel so as to allow the chemicals to react together, the mixing being effected by the mixing device, which results in a large surface area between phases, so as to aid in mass transfer.
