Horizontal scan driver stage

The horizontal scan driver stage includes a scan coil (5) connected in parallel with a diode (3). A current flows, in this circuit, during a first part of a line scan phase,in which the scan current lies between a negative maximal value and zero. A nearly linear rise of the scan current is made possible by providing a circuit (7) in parallel to the scan coil, which diverts a current caused through a forward over-voltage on the diode during the first part of the line scan phase. The circuit consists preferably of a clamping diode (8) and a parallel circuit of a discharge capacitor (10) and a discharge resistor.
