The invention relates to a method for directing a dialogue between an individual or a number of users and a computer which is provided as a virtual conversation partner, whereby the computer conducts a content analysis of the user's statements and gives the user a suitable answer based on said content analysis by selecting and/or combining a plurality of answer possibilities which can be considered. The inventive method is characterized in such a way that bodily reactions of the individual user which can be detected using signals are analyzed with measuring and/or comparing devices in the computer or on-line. During generation of bodily reactions, the suitable answer is considered by the computer. The inventive method can be used, for example, in personality centered speech psychotherapy.
