PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric rotating machine in which a hardly deformable coil molded body having a deformed cross section or a coil molded body having a large cross section can be wound and placed easily, and to provide its manufacturing method. SOLUTION: A stator core is constituted in such a way that an inside core 1a which comprises outer slots 11 opened to the radial side and teeth 12 used to partition side ends of the outer slots 11 is fitted to an outside core 1b which forms a yoke by bringing its inner circumferential face into contact with end edges on the radial outside of the teeth 12. The slot conductor part 21 of a coil 2 which is housed in the outer slots 1 is composed of a flat conductive coil. The outer slots 11 are featured in such a way that they are tilted to one side in the circumferential direction continuously toward radial-outside slot openings 15 from radial-inside slot bottom parts 16. As a result, a coil can be wound and placed easily.
