METHOD OF MAKING A FINE WIRE WITH HIGH TENSILE STRENGTH

The method comprises hot-rolling a steel wire consisting of 0.60-0.75 wt.% C, 1.0-2.0 wt.% Si, 0.5-0.8 wt.% Mn, the balance Fe and inevitable impurities, and subjecting the hot-rolled steel wire to wire-drawing. The hot-rolled wire is heated to 1000-1100 deg.C, rapid-cooled to 500-600 deg.C and held at that temperature for 15-30 secs. The steel wire is used as a reinforcing material of belt cords, tire cords and bead wires.
