PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable an extinguishing system designed for vacant volume of cargo compartments of the whole to be used for a rest room inside an underfloor region without much additional costs by omitting a separate extinguishing apparatus. SOLUTION: The extinguishing apparatus for a passenger airplane uses a pipeline system mechanically connecting a storage vessel housing a fire extinguisher with a plurality of smoke warning hoods and disposed inside a fuselage, wherein the smoke warning hoods have smoke warning sensors and fire extinguisher discharging nozzles cooperating with the sensors, and a discharging valve of the storage vessel and the fire extinguisher discharging nozzles are able to be controlled from a cabin of the airplane. In the extinguishing apparatus where the smoke warning hoods are arranged in an underfloor region of the airplane, especially in front/back cargo compartments/a baggage compartment of the airplane, the extinguishing apparatus 10 is arranged being extended to a passenger region 9 located inside a downside floor region. One or a plurality of the fire extinguisher discharging nozzles 11 provided inside the passenger region are connected with the pipeline system 7 via a pipe 12 and a branch component 13.
