The invention concerns a method for increasing hydrophobicity in paper during papermaking by introducing a size dispersion to the pulp before drainage, which contains as hydrophobing component at least one ketene dimer compound, as well as a water-soluble colloidal polymer in an amount of at least 100% of the hydrophobing component. The invention is preferred especially during an increase in hydrophobicity in paper that contains precipitated calcium carbonate as filler.
