PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an excellent acoustic wave device, in which the deterioration of characteristics is eliminated by enhancing moisture-absorbing properties using a very simple arrangement and preventing adverse effects of vibration of acoustic wave. SOLUTION: An acoustic wave element, comprising an electrode 5 for exciting an acoustic wave placed on a piezoelectric substrate 1, is contained in a casing 6 having an opening; gap between the open upper surface 6a of the casing 6 and a cover 7 is hermetically sealed via a first adhesive material 8 of resin and a second adhesive material 9 containing a moisture-absorbing material is interposed between an acoustic wave element and the casing 6 and/or the cover 7, in order to ensure a vibrating space P of the acoustic wave element.
