PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the time resolution in data collection for TOFMS which uses a TDC circuit of a level detection type. SOLUTION: In a time resolution priority mode, the signals binarized at the same threshold level are inputted in shift registers 12A and 12B. The phases of P-phase clock and N-phase clock supplied to the shift registers 12A and 12B are opposite to each other. Then, the acquired time data are synthesized. In a pulse height measuring mode, binarization in performed at different threshold levels for comparators 10A and 10B. With two times of scans being formed as a single set, in a first scan, the shift registers 12A and 12B are operated with the P-phase clock and N-phase clock, respectively, while in the second scan, the shift registers 12A and 12B are operated with the N-phase clock and P-phase clock, respectively. The time data acquired by the set of scans are synthesized.
