<p>A vehicle crossing warning system includes a master control system or master controller (20), a crossing slave controller (30), and two advanced warning control systems or crossing slave controllers (40, 50). The vehicle warning system further includes a controller (60) located on a moving vehicle or locomotive. The master controller (20) controls the communications between itself and crossing slave units (30, 40 50). Controller (20) includes a GPS receiver and provides the primary listening communications link to the vehicle controller (60); it further includes solar power cells, batteries, and dual double sided LED lights for optimum visibility to motorists approaching the intersection; it further includes one of two ultrasonic locomotive detection sensors used to validate that the crossing is occupied by a railcar or other vehicles, or if the crossing is clear.</p> |
