CALCULATION METHOD, DEVICE AND PROGRAM FOR COMMUNICATION NETWORK FAULT FREQUENCY, AND RECORDING MEDIUM WITH PROGRAM RECORDED THEREON

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new communication fault frequency calculation technique that makes it possible to quickly calculate at high speed a fault frequency at which two nodes of a communication network are disabled to communicate with each other. SOLUTION: A communication network to be processed is converted into a communication network which is considered to have no fault at one or both of two nodes. Then a link having one end connected to the node which never gets out of order is selected out of links that the converted communication network has, and the reliability and fault frequency of the converted communication network are calculated according to a calculation expression including as parameters the reliability and fault frequency that a communication network including the selected link and two nodes connected thereto as a node which never get out of order has and the reliability and fault frequency that a communication network which excludes the selected link and includes one node connected to the link as a node which possibly gets out of order. Then the reliability and fault frequency of the communication network to be processed are calculated based upon the calculated reliability and fault frequency. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
