The invention relates to a method of filtering a useful radio communication signal. According to the invention, one such method involves the use of a digital adaptive filter. The inventive method comprises the following steps, namely: a step consisting in calculating the coefficients of the digital adaptive filter, such as to provide a periodic update of said coefficients; and a step consisting in controlling the convergence pitch of the aforementioned calculation step according to at least one pre-determined criterion.
