PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily and quickly remove a coat layer from a drum consisting of a cylindrical metallic tube stock and the coat layer formed on the surface thereof. SOLUTION: The method for removing the coat layer from the drum includes: crushing the photoreceptor drum 10 in its longitudinal direction. At the time the photoreceptor drum 10 is crushed, the coat layer 14 peels from the surface of the metallic tube stock 12 and scatters around.
