PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nucleic acid detection cassette capable of automatically treating an integrated operation starting from charge of a sample containing a nucleic acid and ending with detection of the target nucleic acid through amplification of the nucleic acid, disposable, and of closed type. SOLUTION: This nucleic acid detection cassette for detecting the nucleic acid contained in the sample is equipped with a gateway which communicates with the outside of the cassette and a retention channel of which the volume is variable and which retains a reagent and communicates with the gateway. Adhesion surfaces of stationary members and a flexible member are adhered to one another, so that the retention channel is set in an adhesion region surrounding the retention channel, and further parts of the adhesion region which sets the retention channel are made to be releasable and set as the gateway. The gateway is opened and closed in such a manner that the gateway is made to be in an open state, by keeping the parts of the adhesion region for setting the gateway releasable, and made to be in a close state, by keeping the parts of the adhesion region for setting the gateway adhered to each other as they are.
