Alpha-bulnesene, its preparation and its use

The present invention discloses alpha-bulnesene isolated from the essential oil of the plant of Pogostemon cablin. Steam distilled essential oil from the aerial parts of Pogostemon cablin was isolated to obtain alpha-Bulnesene. The invented alpha-Bulnesene inhibited platelet aggregation induced by platelet-activating factor (PAF) or arachidonic acid (AA). Use of the invented alpha-bulnesene as anti-inflammation agent is disclosed. The invented alpha-Bulnesene has the following chemical structure: wherein R1, R2 and R3 are respectively H, C51-C4 alkyl or isopropyl.
