Disclosed herein is an electrode for a fuel cell, comprising an ionic conductor containing a basic polymer and a strong acid, and a catalyst containing a noble metal. An example of the basic polymer includes polybenzimidazole. Examples of the strong acid include phosphoric acid and sulfuric acid. As a noble metal, platinum is preferably used. In the case where platinum is used as a catalyst, the weight of the ionic conductor is preferably 0.5 to 50% by weight with respect to the weight of the catalyst. |
