A flow meter to be used in a hole (1) drilled in the bedrock for measurin g stream flows in bedrock fractures (2) which are transversal to the hole. T he flow meter comprises an elongated body (3) having a cross section which i s substantially smaller than the diameter of the hole; separating members (4 ) placed at a distance from each other in the longitudinal direction of the body for separating the examined section from the other parts of the hole in a substantially pressure-tight manner; dividing members (5) for dividing th e examined section into two sectors in the longitudinal direction of the hol e; and a flow channel (6) extending through the body and equipped with a flo w sensor for measuring the direction and rate of the flow between the sector s. In accordance with the invention, the dividing members (5) are formed of thin and elastic sealing strips (7), which have been fixed to the body and, being substantially perpendicular to the surface of the body, arranged to su rround and delimit the sectors.
