摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bearing cap structure capable of reducing the weight of the whole of an engine without reducing the rigidity of the whole of the engine and without enlarging the whole of the bearing cap. SOLUTION: The bearing cap structure comprises a plurality of bearing caps each having a supporting surface which supports a crankshaft in a freely rotatable manner, and bearing beams which couple the bearing caps mutually in an axial direction of the crankshaft. Bolt mounting holes are bored on both sides of the supporting surface. A thinning depression is formed from a lower side of the bearing cap and within an axial width of the crankshaft on the supporting surface. A pair of outer circumferential ribs extending in the axial direction of the crankshaft to couple each of the bearing caps together is formed on both sides that sandwiches the thinning depression and outside the blot mounting hole. Further, a rib extending along the outer circumferential rib to couple each of the bearing caps is formed inside the outer circumferential rib and outside the bolt mounting hole.
