A traffic information transmission system and a transmitting method thereof are provided to obtain real time traffic information by transmitting the traffic information data through an FM frequency in a transmission terminal and receiving the traffic information data in a reception terminal. A traffic information transmission system includes a transmission terminal(100) and a reception terminal(200). The transmission terminal includes a data modulation unit(110), a first antenna unit(120) and a first controller(130). The data modulation unit modulates the traffic information data to transmit the data to a predetermined frequency. The first antenna unit transmits the modulated traffic information data from the data modulation unit to the predetermined frequency. The first controller controls the transmission of the traffic information data according to a hop counter. The reception terminal includes a data analysis unit(210), a display unit(220) and a second controller(230). The data analysis unit receives and analyzes the traffic information data. The display unit displays the traffic information analyzed by the data analysis unit. The second controller determines the retransmission according to the hop counter included in the traffic information data.
